Some projects are as simple as a hidden fence for the family dog. Others call for whole-home circadian lighting. With Lutron’s Ketra fixtures, we program each room’s brightness and color temperature to follow local daylight, from warm sunrise tones to brighter, cooler light at midday and a soft glow at dusk. That pattern can support your natural sleep-wake rhythm.
Soundwaves handles it all under one roof, from design and custom fabrication to installation and programming. Have something else in mind? It never hurts to ask.
Keep the built-ins you love. We can design around the screen and speaker openings, make grilles and trim to fit the millwork, and build acoustic panels for the room. A Movie button can lower the shades, dim the lights, and bring up a film from your personal media server.
Lighting that belongs in the architecture
A continuous line of light beneath a handrail or along a cabinet takes more than an LED strip. We can machine the recess, fit the channel, solder the connections, and program the level so you see the steps at night without lighting up the whole room.
Motorized shades that disappear into the trim
Want to keep the original trim around a wall of windows? We can measure the openings and work with your carpenter on a pocket or valance that conceals the shade hardware. Use one keypad to raise every shade in the room or lower just the ones facing the afternoon sun.
Commercial controls your staff can use
For a restaurant, one opening control can set the dining-room lights, select music for the patio, and turn on the bar displays. In a meeting room, we can fit the microphones and cabling into the table and put the controls where the presenter sits.
Our Buzzards Bay Workshop
When the right part doesn’t exist.
If a new lighting keypad leaves a gap in the original woodwork, we can machine a metal trim plate to fit both the keypad and the existing opening. You keep the millwork you love. At a business entrance, we can take that same detail further and use our 3D fiber laser to engrave the company logo in relief on an entry panel.
In our 6,000-square-foot Buzzards Bay shop, we 3D-print custom parts and prototypes. Our CNC router handles full 5-by-10-foot sheets and has a laser attachment of its own.
We can restore existing hardware, too. When a metal speaker grille or outdoor light housing starts showing its age, our blast cabinet can strip away surface corrosion and the old finish. We can then refinish it in our paint booth or apply a durable powder coat to protect the metal and match the surrounding fixtures.
High-fidelity sound reaches from the living room to the beach, with 20-plus listening zones inside the homes and seven more outdoors. On the lawn, we placed speakers around the gathering areas so guests could enjoy the music and still talk comfortably beside the nearest speaker.
